"REPORT CARD"
Wonderful things are happening for, with, and because of our students at OLP School every week and
every month. We want to keep you in better touch with these exciting events and programs.
At Homecoming in October, the students raised over $1180 from the Chinese auction!
Over the coming two weeks, our 8th graders will tour high schools to begin the process of discerning which
school is "right" for which student. Among others, we'll visit Benedictine, St. Peter Chanel, Central
Catholic, Beaumont, and Villa Angela-St. Joseph.
The Junior High School hosted a party lunch for Fr. Gary's recent 50th birthday, then continued the
happy celebration with a lively 50's style dance. Lots of fun for all!
PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL
OLP's Pastoral Council meets today at 9:00 AM. We hope to finish the decision- making process on goals
for the next few years. Watch for more soon.
HOME FOR SALE
Longtime parishioner looks
for a good, qualified buyer for newly remodeled 3-bedroom home in Our Lady of Peace Parish, 11917
Hamlen Ave. Call Frank, 440-953-2313.
But the man who received one (talent) went off and dug a hole in the ground and buried his master's
money. Matthew 25:18
The servant didn't realize that he was burying himself along with his master's money. Nor could he
imagine that the hole he dug became a grave not only for the talent, but also for his own potential. He
decided to "play it safe" rather than invest, and the result was "no gain."
The spiritual life is about increase. god asks us to "increase and multiply" every blessing, but this only
happens when we recognize our gifts and are willing to develop them. Paradoxically, the more we invest,
the more gifts surface. We may have only one talent at our disposal, but the way we work with this talent
can yield many more skills which had previously gone unnoticed. This holds true not only of tangible gifts
such as musical abilities, but also of invisible gifts such as being a loving presence to others, learning to
listen, learning to pray. As a result, our life's purpose begins to unfold and we begin to understand all that
God desires for us.
Let us always use our gifts in your service, O God.

CHRISTMAS GIVING AND SHARING TREE!
Yes, believe it or not, we're starting TODAY! In the back of church, look for our Christmas Giving and
Sharing Tree, which is our response to the call to help with Prison Ministry in our diocese. The ornament-
tags on the tree have the names of specific small gifts. Please take an ornament today with the gift
of your choice written on it, buy that gift, then wrap it, and return it with the ornament-tag attached to the
outside of gift.
Gifts should be returned the weekend of Sat/Sun., DEC. 7- 8. They will be given out to the recently-
released women prisoners and their young children at a special party later that same week. What a
wonderful way to reach out to people who need so much help, especially at this time of year!
