Whose funeral was this past week. May her family know God's healing comfort. May she rest in
peace.
FAMILY PERSPECTIVE: The saying of Jesus in Today's gospel is meant for family life:
.all who humble themselves will be exalted.. It is actually in self-giving and sacrifice that
we create the bonds and relationships that last a lifetime. It is in the giving that we discover
the
depth of our love for one another. Nothing is lost and so much is found.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2:00 PM MASS FOR HEALING & ANOINTING THE SICK

the 12:00 Mass, all students preparing for Confirmation will participate in the Rite of
Enrollment. Immediately following the Mass will be a short mandatory informational
meeting
in the church.

POOR SOUL MOMENTOS
November is the month dedicated to the Poor Souls.
We celebrate our love for departed relatives and friends by remembering them daily at
Mass.
This time provides an opportunity to deepen our faith in the Resurrection as well and to remind
us of the spiritual presence of those deceased with whom we will one day be reunited. We
invite
you to personally share in this sacred remembrance by sending the names of your dear
departed
ones. We will place these names at the altar for the month of November. An envelope is
provided
in your packet. Please write the names of those to be remembered and drop it in the collection
basket.

WOULD YOU HELP US? The church will be cleaned on Friday, Nov. 9, beginning at 5

 FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK

Dear Parishioners,
This week many folks will be celebrating Halloween. Halloween has grown into a major
secular holiday in our American culture. For those who don't value devotion to the saints, the
Eve
has become .hollow. instead of .hallow.. The purpose behind it has become lost. Take
away
the saints and our beliefs about the dignity and destiny of human beings, and the only thing
left
is pre-Christian superstition regarding the dead.
Hallow is the same word for .holy. that we find in the Lord.s Prayer, and e.en is a
contraction of evening.. The word Halloween itself is a shortened form of .All Hallow.s
Eve,.
the day before All Saints Day.
We celebrate ALL SAINTS DAY as a HOLYDAY OF OBLIGATION, in the same way that
we celebrate Sunday. In order to fulfill your obligation, Masses will be offered:
WEDNESDAY EVENING at 5:00 P.M. On THURSDAY, Masses will be 7:30 AM, 10:00
AM,
and 7:00 PM.
It.s important that we celebrate the religious connection of ALL SAINTS DAY and
protect
our children from any danger. Halloween can be like our Mardi Gras before a very serious
Lent.
We should be able to laugh at the dark side and dress up in costumes and have parties. Let's
reclaim our heritage with all the story power, creativity and joyous good fun that we can.
Let's
use it to help us become the saints WE are each called to be.
                              God bless you!
                               Father Keller

YOUR GIFT TO GOD AND THE PARISH Last week-end amounted to $ 7,000.00 and to the
Missions $650.00.
