ANNOUNCEMENTS

Thank you…

To the adults who spent time with our young people at last week’s retreat, "Making Waves". Their presence was important to those who are preparing for Confirmation. However, there is some question about when the adults’ hearing will get back to normal.

To those who are faithfully donating items to our weekly collection for the needy. This week we are looking for disposable diapers, baby wipes and related items. Next week soaps: bath, facial, gels, babies, etc. would be very helpful. Please put these items in the barrels near the communion railing.

To those who have promised their time by participating in Vibrant Parish Life Committee work and to those who have indicated they are willing to help plan our 125th Anniversary year of celebration. We will contact you about meetings.

To those who have made donations to the Easter Memorial Flower Fund to help decorate the church for this great feast and at the same time honor a deceased loved one. Please put your offering in one of the envelopes at the church doors.

It isn’t too late to sign up for the Lenten Retreat on Irish Spirituality scheduled for Saturday, March 27th. This day-long event will be led by Sister Jeanette Kearns, an Ursuline Sister who has studied Irish Spirituality and is willing to share some of what she has learned with us. The day begins at 10:00 AM and finishes with Mass at 5:00 PM. Cost for the day, including lunch and refreshments are $15.00. See Linda Dlugo or Sister Wilma for more information or to register. Men and women are welcome.

Several other retreats have been scheduled that may be of interest. Both are directed to adults who are between 18 and 35 years old. The St. Rose Young Adults Group invites you to a retreat on Saturday, March 20th from 9:00 AM to 5:45 PM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. The retreat will include presentations, Confession, Stations of the Cross and time for reflection. The cost is $15.00 and includes breakfast and lunch. Call 440-684-0134 for information. A week later, on Saturday, March 27th (the same day as ours), a retreat titled "The Spirituality of Social Justice: Praying with Dorothy Day and Thomas Merton", will be offered at St. Augustine Church on West 14th Street. This runs from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM. There is no set charge for this retreat. A free will offering will be taken and participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food to share with the homeless. Lunch will be served at the Hunger Center. Call 216-228-0869 to make a reservation.

St. Patrick’s Day is almost here! We could use some help preparing on Tuesday. If you are able to be here between 1:30 and 3:00 PM to help decorate or between 5:00 and 7:00 PM for the finishing touches, we would be most grateful. On Wednesday, Mass will be at 10:30 AM. You know that if you would like to have a seat, you will need to be here by about 9:00 AM. Parking will be available in our new lots, at SBC across the street and at Zone Recreation, as well as on the streets. The celebration continues on into the afternoon with the party that has food and beverages supplied by Great Lake Brewery. There is an entrance charge of $5.00 for this as well as charges for the food and drink.

The Wednesday evening class on "How to be Catholic in the New Millennium" will not be held on the 17th but will resume next Wednesday, March 24th.

Plans are coming along for the 9th Annual Reverse Raffle to be held on Friday, April 16th at St. Christopher Parish Center. Those who have attended in the past know what a good time it is. Tickets are available from Rita Gaertner and at the Parish Office. Cost is $100.00 a couple. Call the Parish Office for more information.
