St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church (Szent Erzsébet Római Katólikus Magyar Egyhásközség) is an ethnic parish serving the Hungarian (Magyar) Community of Cleveland.  Our parishioners represent those persons who have only recently arrived into the United States as well members whose ancestors reach back to our founding as the first Hungarian Roman Catholic Church in America in 1892.  Our parish is dedicated to strengthening the Catholic faith of our members which is entwined with the Hungarian culture dating to the founding of the Hungarian Nation-State by Saint István (Stephen) in the year 1000 A.D.

Throughout the Scriptures, God’s breath is a powerful force. God breathed life into Adam and Jesus breathed the Holy Spirit upon his disciples. At baptism  we receive the Spirit, the breath of God. Our new life is enriched with many spiritual gifts and is blessed with God’s peace and love.

 

Pray for our deceased: especially, Joseph Krusoczky.  May he live forever in the joy of the Resurrection.

 

Keep the sick and frail in your prayers.  May our Gracious Healer grant them healing of mind and body, restore  their strength and spirit and bring them one day closer to healing.

 

Donations:  $100.00 donation in celebration of Phil and Julie Lucchese’s golden wedding anniversary.                       $200.00 gift from Ethel Veres to our church. Thank you for your generosity.

 

Next Sunday – second collection: Catholic Home Mission.  This appeal supports missions here in the United States. This Mission Appeal offers Catholics across our country a wonderful opportunity to help fellow Catholics practice their faith in such rugged areas as Alaska, Appalachia, the Deep South, the Rocky Mountain Sates, the Southwest, Puerto Rico.  This Appeal is a practical way for our parish to share its faith and resources with the mission Church here at home.  Please give generously to assist fellow Catholics here in America.  It’s one practical way our parish community can be good stewards of God’s gifts and make a difference.

 

Congratulations:  Our parishioners and friends extend their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Julie and Phil Lucchese on their 50^th wedding anniversary. On this day of rejoicing with the Lucchese family let us join them in their prayerful thanksgiving for the blessing of the past fifty years. Especially for their tireless hard work for their family, and loyalty to St. Elizabeth Church and Parish community in the past and the present. May God reward them with abundant blessings and grant them continued years of joy and happiness.

 

Congratulations  -  To Aniko and Imre Karetka on the occasion of their second son’s baptism. We welcome Tamás Karetka into our Christian Community. May this child of yours be enlightened by Christ. May our Heavenly Father continue to pour out his blessings and send his peace upon all who are gathered here today. God bless them.

Szent Erzsébet Róm. Kat. Egyházközség értesítője

 

Az Ószövetségben a pünkösd, aratási ünnep is volt. Számunkra a Pünkösd a megváltás beteljesedését: a Szentlélek eljövetelét jelenti. Ő erősít meg minket hitben és szeretetben. Ő ad erőt a tanúságtételre, irányítja az Egyházat, és munkálja annak egységét. Ma különösképpen kérjük mi is a Szentlélek kegyelmi kiáradását keresztény életünkre.

    

Köszönjük: a templomunk javára juttatott adományokat. Mrs. Veres 200 dolláros adományával ismételten kifejezte templomunk iránti nagylelkűségét. Philip és Julie Lucchese házasságuk 50. évfordulója alkalmával 100 dollárral ajándékozták meg templomunkat. A Lucchese házaspárnak szeretettel gratulálunk, és köszönjük mindkét adományt.

 

Jövő vasárnap úgynevezett Catholic Home Mission második gyűjtés is tartunk. Egyházmegyénk e gyűjtéssel az országon belüli államok szegényebb egyházmegyéit támogatja. Adományunk tehát befogadó országunkon belüli missziós célokat szolgál. Nagyon sok egyházközség segítségre szorul itt is. Lehetőségünk szerint segítsük őket.

 

Szeretettel gratulálunk Karetka Imre és Anikó szülőknek: akik második kisfiuk, Tamás, a keresztség szentségében részesül ma. Kérjük Szent Tamás apostolt, hogy legyen oltalmazója az újonnan kereszteltnek és az egész családnak.
