St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church (Szent Erzsébet Római Katólikus Magyar Egyhásközség) is an ethnic parish serving the Hungarian (Magyar) Community of Cleveland.  Our parishioners represent those persons who have only recently arrived into the United States as well members whose ancestors reach back to our founding as the first Hungarian Roman Catholic Church in America in 1892.  Our parish is dedicated to strengthening the Catholic faith of our members which is entwined with the Hungarian culture dating to the founding of the Hungarian Nation-State by Saint István (Stephen) in the year 1000 A.D.

In the Gospel, Peter professes his sinfulness after Jesus helps him and his colleagues bring in a miraculous catch of fish.

Peter knows he’s in the presence of divine power. He knows he’s not worthy! But Jesus also has a job in mind: fishing for people.  The implications might not have been clear to these apostles-to-be, bujt their response is immediate and bold.  They leave everything to follow Jesus.

 

Keep the sick and frail in your prayers, especially, Irene Szlaninka and Rosemarie Szabo.  May our Gracious Healer grant them healing of mind and body restore their strength and spirit and bring them closer to healing.

 

Donation:  $200.00 was donated by Marjan and Rita (Barta) Susec (new parishioners) on the occasion of the convalidation of their marriage and baptism of their son. Thank you.

 

Second collection today  – The El Salvador –Latin American Collection.  Our Missionaries are the gift of the Diocese of Cleveland to the Church of El Salvador. Since 1964, priest, religious and laity have served in the country of El Salvador. Please continue your support for our entire Mission endeavors by your generous contribution.

Please use the special envelopes provided for this collection. If you are not prepared to contribute today pick up an evelope and return it next Sunday with your donation.  Please be as generous as you can.

 

Congratulations to Marjan & Rita (Barta) Susec who had their marriage convalidated today.  Seeking to have their union officially recognized by the church is a joyous occasion.  God validates and blesses your love, in front of all the Church’s servants and its believers.  Christ our Lord in his wisdom blesses this love.  May this sacrament in its mercy enrich and strengthen you that you may both live out your eternal faithfulness in this binding vow. 

 

We also congratulate Marjan & Rita on the occasion of the baptism of their son Mario. Mario was reborn in baptism Your child has been enlightened by Christ.  May he walk always as a child of the light and may he keep the flame of faith alive in his heart. May almighty God, the Father, and the Sun and his Holy Spirit bless this child and his parents.

Az életben néha nehéz próbatételek adódnak. Ilyenkor gyengeségünk tudatában elbizonytalanodunk, és félelem vesz erőt rajtunk. Elfelejtjük, hogy Istenhatalmas és jóságos Atyánk, aki tud és akar is rajtunk segíteni. Csak azt várja, hogy megpróbáltatásainkban és nehézségeinkben gyermeki bizalommal forduljunk hozzá. (Kis Misekönyv, „C” év)

 

Köszönjük az újonnan beiratkozott ifjú híveink, Marjan és Rita (Barta) Susec nagylelkű adományát.

Marjan és Rita beiratkozásuk alkalmával 200 dollárt adományoztak templomunknak. Ismételten köszönjük.

 

Ma a második gyűjtés a Dél-Amerikai El Salvador Misszió javára történik.  E misszió 1964 óta a clevelandi egyházmegye lelki gondozása és anyagi támogatottsága alatt van. Egyházmegyénk papokat, szerzeteseket és civil egyházi alkalmazottakat küld a misszióba, akik anyagi ellátásáról is gondoskodik. Mindez komoly áldozatot jelent az egyházmegyének. Ezért kér évről-évre tőlünk is segítséget. Lehetőségünk szerint segítsük őket.

Ha bárki csak ma értesült volna a gyűjtésről, kérjük, hogy vegyen fel egy borítékot a kijáratnál lévő fehér asztalkáról, és jövő vasárnap is behozhatja adományát. Ha a borítékra ráírja nevét, a nyilvántartási rekord-lapra is bejegyezzük. 

 

Szeretettel gratulálunk:  Marjan és Rita (Barta) Susec ifjú híveinknek a templomi (szentségi) házasságuk rendezése alkalmával. Kérjük a gondviselő Istent, hogy a házasság szentségének kegyelmei által szeretetben, megértésben és hűségben éljenek együtt. Éljenek példás házastársi életet, és mint szülők Isten akarata szerint neveljék gyermekeiket.
