MISSION STATEMENT

St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church (Szent Erzsébet Római Katólikus Magyar Egyhásközség) is an ethnic parish serving the Hungarian (Magyar) Community of Cleveland.  Our parishioners represent those persons who have only recently arrived into the United States as well members whose ancestors reach back to our founding as the first Hungarian Roman Catholic Church in America in 1892.  Our parish is dedicated to strengthening the Catholic faith of our members which is entwined with the Hungarian culture dating to the founding of the Hungarian Nation-State by Saint István (Stephen) in the year 1000 A.D.

Mark your calendars for Sunday May 18, 2014.  Our annual Mother’s / Father’s Day Dinner will be on this day.  Detailed information is forthcoming. Please note: when we have a dinner, is only one Sunday Mass at 11 o'clock.

Next Sunday: April 27, 2014, The Divine Mercy Sunday and also we will witness the canonization of two popes, blessed John XXIII and blessed John Paul II.  They will be canonized as saints in a historic solemn liturgical rite officiated by Pope Francis. In a series of revelations to St. Maria Faustina Kowalska in the 1930s, our Lord called for a special feast day to be celebrated on the Sunday after Easter. Today, we know that this feast is Divine Mercy Sunday, named by pope John Paul II. at the canonization of St. Faustina on April 30, 2000. The second Sunday of Easter was already a solemnity as the Octave Day of Easter.  Pope John Paul II. made the surprise announcement of this change in his homily at the canonization of St. Faustina on April 30, 2000.  There he declared: “It is important then that we accept the whole message that come to us from the word of God on this Second Sunday of Easter, which from now on throughout the Church, will be called “Divine Mercy Sunday”. Please, pick up the pamphlets at the church entrance.

ALLELUIA!  CHRIST IS RISEN!  REJOICE IN THE EASTER BLESSINGS OF CHRIST!

Szent Erzsébet Róm. Kat. Magyar Egyházközség értesítője

Köszönet a húsvéti adományokért.  Az adakozók neve és adomány összege az angol részben látható.

Köszönjük a nagypénteki adományukat a Szentföld kegyhelyei és templomai részére.  A nagypénteki szertartáson elégé kevesen voltak jelen. Ha vannak, akik ma adakoznának, adományukat a feltámadási szobornál hagyhatják.

Felhívjuk a hívek figyelmét!  Egyházközségünk az Anyák- Apák napi ebédet május 18-án, vasárnap tartja. Információt a következő vasárnapokon közlünk.

A bejáratnál, angol nyelvű brosúrákat találhatunk, amelyekben mindezekről részletes leírást találhatnak. Kilencedet és rózsafüzért magyarul sokszorosítva a sárga ívlapon találhatjuk.

IMÁDSÁGOS  SZERETETTEL:  -  KEGYELMEKBEN  GAZDAG  HÚSVÉTI  ÜNNEPEKET  KÍVÁNUNK!
